The Olympics, Badminton, and The Code

Ask your team: How are the values of the Code being reflected in the Olympics?  It will be good for your players to articulate the many ways in which the Code is reflected, and for them to hear the things that stand out for their teammates.  It is also good to ask them “what do you think the ‘spirit of the Olympics’ is?”   Is that spirit reflected in the Code?  Four teams were disqualified from the badminton competition for violating that spirit.  Technically, did they break a rule?  The Code includes not just the “letter of the rule” but the “spirit of the rule.”  In what ways are you challenged in your sports by the “spirit of the rule?”  To what standard do you hold yourself?
