Every year we have elections at various levels of government. This year, of course, attention is focused on the Presidential election. According to the polls, half of the country will be thrilled with victory, and half of the country will be disappointed in defeat. Kipling wrote, “if you can meet with victory and defeat and treat those two imposters just the same…” He called both victory and defeat “imposters.” An imposter is someone who pretends to be someone they are not. In other words, victory and defeat are never the final goal of anything, only one step along the way. Defeat is never final, we can always pick ourselves up, and begin again. Victory is never final, either. For when we become complacent in victory we will soon lose again. This nation will always have more to do. So will you and your team. What are the most important next steps for you and for your team?
