Eli Manning has been benched. None of us can imagine what it feels like to have started over 200 games in row for the NY Giants, been twice named as the Super Bowl MVP, and then to be told you’re now on the second string. But, most of us have found ourselves either not starting, or starting in a position that we would not have chosen. We know the Code says “I will put team goals ahead of personal goals,” but how do we accept a position that we did not choose, and which does not excite us? Eli has been out there with the practice squad all week, leading by example. Bitterly disappointed, he has been working as hard to make those around him better as he ever did. Both Peyton and Eli have always been gracious both in victory and defeat, but what can you learn from Eli this time?
