Vincent J. Dooley Scholarship Nomination Form

The Vincent J. Dooley Scholarship nominations are open for every student-athlete from any high school in Georgia. The high school Athletic Directors can nominate one male and one female student-athlete for their exemplary character and leadership both on and off the field, for their positive influence in their lives, and for the difference they make in the lives of others.

The Athletic Director selects their nominees and completes the form below to have their selections considered for the Vincent J. Dooley Scholarship, all nominated student-athletes will compete for a four-year $1000 per year college scholarship, as well as a $500 grant to be awarded to their favorite charity, when the Nomination Form below has been uploaded by the February 14^th, 2025 deadline. Each student-athlete nominated will be presented with a color plaque at the Awards Ceremony in the Spring of 2025. (Date and location to be announced) in recognition of their nomination.

To compete for the scholarships:

1. The Athletic Director nominates one male and one female student-athlete from their High School.
2. The Athletic Director writes a one-page letter detailing the athlete's adherence to the Code for Living while commenting on:
   1. Training behavior
   2. Competitive behavior
   3. Relationships with teammates and coaches
   4. Response to victory and defeat
3. The nominated male/female athlete writes a one-page essay detailing why they deserve the scholarship and their adherence to the Code for Living. They should also comment on
   1. School extracurricular activities
   2. Community activities, names of charities, and good works completed
   3. Results (number of hours, days given, money raised for charity, etc)
4. Up to three pages of supporting references by one or more people familiar with the nominee's contributions and character should be included.
5. Current HS transcript, including cumulative GPA must be included with the documentation package.
6. All supporting documents must be submitted by the Athletic Director with this nomination form before hitting the submit button. (one separate Nomination Form for each athlete – only one male and one female)
