Andre Johnson and The Code

Andre Johnson, the Texans wide receiver, gave twelve children from Child Protective Services 80 seconds to fill up their shopping carts with as many toys as they could, for themselves and other members of their families for Christmas.  It cost Johnson an amazing $19,000!  Johnson’s foundation does things to support children in both Houston and his hometown of Miami throughout the year, but this is the event that gives him the most pleasure.  Later that day, he and the Houston Police department surprised 800 kids at an elementary school with more presents.

The Code says that “I will give as I am able… for the betterment of my community and world.” Most of us don’t have a spare $19,000, but we do have $1.90, or $19. Many teams make special efforts during the holiday season to make a difference in those whose lives are less fortunate than their own. What can your team do that will make a difference in this season?
