Teenage drivers and The Code

Twenty teens have died in the past week in five different accidents in five states.  What does the Code have to say about this?  The Code says, “I will play by the letter and spirit of the rules…”  All of these accidents were caused by “not playing by the rules” – by speeding or not stopping at a stop sign – or by simply not paying attention, by texting (against the law in many if not most states), talking on the cell phone, or looking at other passengers instead of the road.  The “spirit of the law” means taking the responsibility for driving yourself and others seriously.  The number one cause of death in teenagers is automobile wrecks.  The prom season is coming.  What role can you play in your school to create positive peer pressure for those who drive?
