With the four Alabama players arrested, and the shocking news about the arrest of Oscar Pistorius in the slaying of his girlfriend, we really wanted to find something positive to talk about this week. We did: Felix Hernandez cried when he signed his contract (for $175 million) with the Seattle Mariners. He didn’t cry because of the money, he cried because of the feelings he had for the Mariners, for his teammates, for his city, for all of the love and loyalty that that contract represented. Being a part of a team is a great experience when everyone is committed to each other. That experience begins with each and every person, player or coach on every team. The Code says, “I will be a positive influence on the relationships on the team.” What does that mean for you? For your team?
