Mookie Betts and the Code

All baseball fans know that Mookie Betts may win the American League MVP this year. But did you know that after the second World Series game, he and his brother were spotted outside the Boston Library at 1 am handing out food to the homeless? No one knew who they were, or that they were even coming, and they were not recognized as they went about their tasks. That’s a great story. But here’s another: when Mookie was a child, he was cut from the Little League team he tried out for. So, his mother formed another team of all the kids who had been cut. Do you think that there’s any connection between these two stories? Who are the people you admire who seek to serve others? Has anyone ever inspired you to want to give back to those less fortunate? Is it possible that by your actions you can inspire others? Have you ever thought of that?  “I will give… as I am able, for the betterment of my community and world.”
